Fees and insurance

Sessions are 50 minutes and range from $235 to $250. The first step, a 15-minute phone consultation, is free. Alberta Health Care doesn't cover psychologist services, but many extended health benefit plans do. We don't bill insurers directly, so you pay through Jane and claim each session from your plan.

Will my extended health benefits cover counselling?

Many extended health benefit plans reimburse sessions with a psychologist. Some of our clients are covered through plans like Alberta Blue Cross and Sun Life, including through a partner's or parent's plan. The specific reason you're seeing a psychologist stays confidential when you claim.

We don't bill insurance providers directly, so you submit each session to your plan for reimbursement.

Coverage for sessions with a Registered Provisional Psychologist varies by plan. Some plans include provisional psychologists who are supervised by a Registered Psychologist. Check with your plan before you book.

Before you book, check with your plan

  • How much it covers per session, and per year
  • Whether it covers Registered Psychologists, Registered Provisional Psychologists, or both
  • Whether it covers couples sessions
  • What you need to submit with a claim
