Nina Hornjatkevyc, M.Sc.

Biography

Nina is Practice Lead at Synthesis Psychology. For over a decade she has provided personal counselling support as a Registered Psychologist. It has been her honour to work with thousands of clients.

She is committed to clients’ goals and enjoys collaborating with them to explore their unique circumstances, strengths and needs, consider options and support their personal, educational and work lives.

Her areas of specialty for personal counselling include managing life transitions, anxiety (including performance anxiety), grief and loss, and supporting self-esteem.

For 10 years, Nina worked as a psychologist in the higher education industry, with current and prospective post-secondary students. Prior to that, she worked as a counsellor in community support agencies.

She completed a Master of Science degree in counselling psychology at the University of Calgary. Her Master’s thesis research explored grief and loss experiences. Nina also completed Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education degrees at the University of Alberta, with a focus on music and psychology. Nina is a member of the College of Alberta Psychologists and of the Psychologists’ Association of Alberta.
